This week we chat with Brooke Weigel, a marine ecologist studying the symbiotic relationship between microscopic microbes and canopy-forming kelp. Weigel aims to understand how these microbes impact kelp growth and nutrient acquisition.  Her research focuses on the productivity and nutrient cycling within kelp forest ecosystems.
